Sarah qualified as a Pilates Instructor with Body Control in 2009 having worked part time in the fitness industry for over 25 years. Initially teaching Step Aerobics and Exercise to Music in the 90’s whilst following a career in Business and then relocating to Hampshire and training as a Pilates Instructor. Sarah is passionate about the benefits of Pilates, experiencing them within her own body and supporting client’s development, particularly those with back pain. In recent years, Sarah has developed a deeper interest in Mindful Movement and is pursuing continued personal development around the neuroscience of pain and illness.

Dominique has practiced Pilates since 2003, first encountering it through ballet training.  This developed her interest in how Pilates could be used to rehabilitate from injuries, learn better body awareness, movement patterns and focus.  She is passionate about passing this knowledge of functional movement to a wider audience, working with both children and adults, and also having particular interest in restorative teaching.  Currently she is undergoing more training on working with amputees and clients with scoliosis.

Hannah trained as a Pilates Teacher with Body Control Pilates in 2010.

Hannah realised the magic of Pilates after experiencing lower back pain while working as a Children’s Librarian, and has more recently experienced its power aiding her recovery from hip surgery. Her decision to train as a teacher came from her desire to share the benefits – and her love – of the method.

Hannah is now focussing her training on the large Pilates Studio equipment, and is also working towards a Level 4 qualification – the Certificate in Instructing Applied Pilates Mat Work. This qualification is currently only available to Body Control Pilates Teachers and is the highest level of achievement within the health and fitness industry. It demonstrates the advanced knowledge and skills to teach Pilates across a very broad spectrum of clients, including special population groups and those involved in specific activities. The qualification is endorsed by Ofqual and Active IQ.

After over 20 years of primary school teaching Karen changed careers after experiencing the benefits of Pilates. She enjoys the holistic approach to movement; the functional benefits and the way that the Pilates Method really compliments all aspects of movement.

Karen gained my Level 3 qualification with ‘Body Control Pilates’ in 2001 and has been teaching in the Romsey and Southampton area ever since.

Exercises to promote ‘active aging’ and bone safe movement are of particular interest as she teaches many active retired people. Karen has Osteoporosis and Pilates based movement has enabled her to remain strong and continue an active lifestyle.

She has a busy timetable of classes, and is fortunate to have a loyal client base, many of whom have been with me for over 14 years.

She is constantly inspired by the positive attitude and ability of her clients and the way in which Pilates helps to maintain strength and flexibility.

Rachael is a Level 3 Body Control Pilates Matwork Instructor who qualified in June 2017 and lives in Bognor Regis. She enjoys developing her knowledge by attending training courses and has recently booked onto the Body Control Pilates Pregnancy course. Due to her interest in myofascial work/release she is shortly attending the Anatomy Trains in Motion course to further her understanding of this.
Rachael discovered Pilates in 2012 following a period of illness and exercise, especially Pilates, hugely helped in her recovery both physically and mentally. Her love and enjoyment of practicing Pilates along with believing in the method is what made her decide to begin teaching and assisting others with Pilates.
